Meet Kibirango Peter, a proud employee of Linx Solutions International, a company dedicated to empowering communities in impoverished countries through fair trade and labor practices. As a member of the Linx Solutions team in Kampala, Uganda, Peter has witnessed firsthand how the organization is making a positive impact in his community, thanks to the leadership of its President and CEO, Desirai Van Ekelenburg.
Desirai’s vision for the company has led to initiatives that have helped to reduce unemployment in Uganda by providing job opportunities to over 15 people. Under her guidance, Linx Solutions has provided staff members with access to new skills, such as working with Jasper and other computer programs, as well as providing teachers to help staff members improve their skills, empowering them to take on more complex tasks and advance in their careers.
One of Desirai’s core values is to empower women in impoverished communities. Through the company’s fair trade practices and its sister company, Furbabies, women are given the opportunity to create art and craft items that are sold, allowing them to provide for their families and put food on the table. These initiatives have helped many women in the village to achieve financial independence and break the cycle of poverty.
Desirai’s commitment to using business as a force for good is reflected in the company’s practices, which prioritize fair trade and labor rates. Through her leadership, Linx Solutions International is working to empower communities and create a more sustainable future for all.
